V. Martin Parker - President & CEO

Since leaving McMaster University in 1979 and joining Westinghouse Canada (which became Siemens-Westinghouse, Voith Siemens Hydro then Voith Hydro), Mr. Parker has had the opportunity and tremendous experience in many fields related primarily to power generation, transmission, and control. He has performed various duties that range from the operation and maintenance of a hydro electric generating stations to the complete design and construction supervision of power projects, including project and term financing.

Hydroelectric Projects and other generating sites worked on in Mr. Parker’s over 40 years of experience number in the hundreds. Wind power work began in 1995. Along with Wind Power units, Mr. Parker has also had extensive experience with Gas Turbine units of various sizes along with substation & switchgear design/installation and transformer installation/repair of all sizes. Control and protection systems for plant operation are also a specialty. Mr. Parker's switch to mainly renewable work came when he had his two children and realised the impact of fossil fuel on the environment and their future. 

Mr. Parker is a seasoned Field Operating Manager for field erection for power-generation equipment with knowledge in assembly and erection processes, machine tools and machining techniques, materials non-destructive testing applications, installation working methods and quality control requirements. His hydroelectric experience includes new installations, rehabilitations and commissioning of Turbines & Generators from all major OEM’s.

Mr. Parker has worked with most of the large Utility Companies in Canada and the USA and on some of the largest Hydroelectric Plants in North America. International work has been performed in Libya and Saudi Arabia along with the Ivory Coast and Brazil. 

Currently along with being President and CEO of Ontario Geothermal Renewable Energy Inc. (OGRE Inc.), President of Parker Hydropower and Vice-President of Trout Creek Power, Mr. Parker is Chief Development Officer for Trillium Power Wind Corporation with head offices in Toronto. TPWC is an offshore wind developer that is in the pre-installation development stage of the $1.6 billion 414MW offshore wind farm (“TPW1”) in eastern Lake Ontario near Kingston.

Further opportunities currently under development include additional Great Lakes based wind parks along with various other Hydro and Pumped-storage Projects and for the past 5 years potential Ontario Geothermal Projects.


Christopher M.V. Parker - Director of Business Relations 

From a young age, Chris Parker was interested in Wind Farms and Hydroelectric Dams. He toured the world with his parents on multiple occasions, visiting powerplants and understanding their function and their importance to society, and what failed power grids could to a country's economic stability. 

Once he became of age to attend university, he chose Queen's University in Kingston.  In his second year of studies, Chris Parker enrolled full-time in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Artillery Officer. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Honours and had the distinction of being named on the Dean's List. Working full-time as an Officer Cadet and attending university built a great deal of character and work ethic that is hard to match in the civilian world. 

Since his graduation, he attended specialized leadership school for 1 year to develop the skills required of a Canadian Officer to lead men and women in the most dangerous of conditions. Upon graduation, Chris Parker was selected to lead at the 2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Petawawa, Ontario. 

Throughout his military career, Chris was employed as the Unmanned Arial System (UAS) Commander where he oversaw the training, employment, and safety policy for 25 personnel both in Canada and abroad. He has also been employed as a Surveillance and Target Acquisition Officer where he managed a team of 14 staff in a 24/7 environment to maintain positive control of all UAS, artillery, helicopters, fighter jets, and bombers in a battle space. Chris continuously advised senior leadership (From Lieutenant Colonel to Brigadier General) on how to use these assets to shape their environment.

Operational Deployments include his 8 month tour to Ukraine on Operation UNIFIER, Canada's assistance mission to Ukraine, where he worked as the liaison between all military academies in the country and government policy developers, both Canadian and Ukrainian. He has also deployed on Operation LENTUS, Canada's domestic relief team to help with the flooding in and around Ottawa and Renfrew County. This gave him valuable first-hand civil-military coordination training in disaster environments, working with local governments and emergency services. 

Chris has also worked on multiple government procurement projects, dealing with the complexities of government systems in Ottawa. Some of these projects include procurement of specialized UAS systems for overseas disaster relief, specialized armoured vehicles, and radar systems. He has also worked with OEMs, including Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin. 

Rebecca A. Parker - Director of Green Innovation

Rebecca successfully completed her Horticultural Technician Apprenticeship at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, graduating with honours. Upon graduation, she began to work for NVK Nurseries, one of Ontario's largest wholesale tree and plant organizations. After gaining experience working with a national leader in agricultural production, Rebecca  used her entrepreneurial spirit to start Rebecca Parker Horticultural Consulting Services Inc. 

 Rebecca has extensive workplace safety experience. She has sat on the board of the NVK Health and Safety Committee for over 8 years, holding commercial WHMIS and IPM training. 

In addition to her professional roles in the agricultural business, Rebecca is an avid volunteer and member of Landscape Ontario and a member of the LO Congress Committee. Finally, Rebecca serves as the committee co-chair for the Ontario Green Live Congress. 

Kyle W. Parker - Director of Engineering

Kyle is a graduate of the Mechanical Systems Engineering Co-Op from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering and moved directly into full-time work for Toromont Cat. 

In his capacity as a service planner at Detour Gold Mine, he was charged with scheduling repairs and maintenance on Detour's 795F fleet. He worked to improve site performance and metric tracking. He also gained a breadth of experience working with the Product Support Manager, developing monthly budget forecasts. 

In addition to his service to Toromont Cat, Kyle worked concurrently with AgWest Manitoba to create and implement a zone changing process with the service team. He developed and established SalesLink for Technical Communicators and trained employees on a purchase system for the business (POSYS). He dealt directly with the implementation of how provincial sales tax is handled within the business.

Kyle's work with Toromont Cat was expanded to work in Windsor, Ontario where he worked as the Field Service Supervisor, often performing safety inspections, daily safety briefs, and branch improvements. 

Kyle has also worked with BBE Hydro Constructors LP as an Earthworks Engineer in Keeyask, Manitoba. He worked specifically on foundation grouting operations, designing the work areas with AutoCAD and overseeing installation. He installed, maintained, and repaired Trimble GPS, CCS, and DPS equipment and Rajant mesh networks. 

Finally, Kyle worked as a Site Assistant Manager for Voith Inc. in Madras, Oregon, Kemano, British Columbia, and Sir Adam Beck 1 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. His work included refurbishing power generators, rebuilding 52" spherical valves,  and completing site inspections for RioTintoAlcan. Kyle was charged with preparing work plans, work permits, and project documents for Voith Inc. projects. 
Matthew W. Bowman, CD - Director of IT and Automation

Matthew Bowman graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering and a Master's of Applied Science in Software Engineering. His master's thesis was titled, Using Machine Learning to Detect Anomalous Activity in SCADA Operation. 

Throughout his military career, Matthew served on HMCS Algonquin as the Communication Information Systems Officer where he was in direct command of all communication and information on the ship. Matthew also served as the Navigation Officer for HMCS Edmonton, where he was charged with planning and executing the ship's navigational plan. During this role, Matt was training junior officers of Bridgemanship and Navigation. 

Matt also served as HMCS Algonquin's Bridge Watchkeeper, where he was directly responsible to the Commanding Officer for the safe operation of the ship while at sea. He supervised shipboard evolutions including replenishments, anchoring, and mooring. 

In the realm of cyber defence, Matt has been the team lead for Canada's team to the Cyber Defence Exercise on multiple occasions, and the Web Server and Web Proxy Developer for previous Cyber Defence Exercises. Matt has also led the Canadian Armed Forces on various Capture the Flag Exercises, including the CDX 2018 Hacking Challenge, NorthSec 2018, and Hack the Machine 2019. 

While living in Victoria, British Columbia, Matt served as the Rear-Commodore of the Canadian Forces Sailing Association and built and maintained the Canadian Forces Sailing Association webpage from 2013 to the present. 

Brooke E. Parker - Social Media Relations

Brooke is a recent business graduate from Nipissing University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in marketing, psychology, and a certificate in Human Resource Management. Throughout her university education, Brooke maintained employment with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, where she was employed as a student administrative assistant. 

Brooke's skills include formal education in time management, iOS and Microsoft software systems, and team management/leadership. She has been heavily involved in running board meetings at the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, where she kept formal board minutes and archived them legally and appropriately. 

Brooke's main focus with her current career is social media. Brooke understands the use of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. to reach users and spread messages. Using her initiative and knowledge of these platforms, OGRE will be able to reach more potential supporters, investors, and those interested in climate change.
